Topkapi Palace in Istanbul reveals historic clocks

Topkapi Palace in Istanbul revealed historic clocks to visitors for the first time. The Milli Palaces Directorate is unveiling Topkapi Palace’s historic clock collection, considered among the world’s most distinguished clock collections, to visitors for the first time. More than 300 pieces, ranging from Ottoman to European origins, will be on display at the Clock Museum.

TRT Haber captured the final preparations ahead of the museum’s opening. Housed in the Has Ahirlar (Royal Stables) within the palace’s historic second courtyard, this remarkable assemblage has been transformed into the dedicated Clock Museum, under the evocative theme “Time and Art at Topkapı Palace”. The rare and valuable collection housed in Topkapi Palace represents the traces of time preserved through centuries.
