Google to invest $15 billion in India, build largest AI hub outside US

Google said Tuesday it will invest $15 billion in India over the next five years, as it announced a giant data centre and artificial intelligence base in the country.

Thomas Kurian, CEO, Google Cloud said "We're very pleased to announce a new gigawatt-scale AI hub in Vishakhapatnam. It's the largest AI hub that we are going to be investing in anywhere in the world, outside of the US. It represents a capital investment over the next five years of $15 billion."

After discussing about the "landmark development" with Prime Minister Modi, Google Chief said through the landmark development, Google will bring industry-leading technology to enterprises and users in India, accelerating AI innovation and driving growth across the country.
