





The city of Lagos celebrated the life and legacy of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti with a new exhibition that explored the complexity of his music, activism, and persona. The exhibit offered a deep dive into the multiple facets of Fela’s life, from his disciplined musical training to his unwavering fight for social justice.
Papa Omotayo, Creative director said "This exhibition captures the diversity and complexity of Fela's life. He wasn't one-dimensional, he wasn't perfect in any way, and I think this exhibition really interrogates and delves deep into different aspects of his character."
Visitors explored Fela’s early performances and the ways his music became a tool for educating and inspiring Nigerians and Africans. Through artifacts, recordings, and curated displays, the exhibition preserved Fela Kuti’s message and highlighted his enduring influence on music and social activism.
