The 7th Coordination Meeting between Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General, along with State/Region Advocate-Generals and Legal Officers, was held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.

During the meeting, Union Minister and Attorney-General Dr. Thida Oo highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance legal cooperation with international partners and regional forums, including participation in global legal events in Russia, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. She also addressed post-earthquake recovery efforts in Mandalay, Shan, and Sagaing, including the provision of temporary shelters, food, and medicine, and the restoration of damaged legal offices and housing.

She added that the Ministry is currently implementing its Third Strategic Plan (2025–2029) under the theme "Building Legal Trust for the People", with five key goals. Priority programs include opening diploma courses in legal advocacy, public legal awareness training, integrating law education into Grade 12 curricula, and establishing e-libraries. She said efforts are underway to modernize legal services through AI technology, with 38 legal officers assigned to a newly formed AI Legal Education Oversight Committee. A legal Q&A database is being compiled for future public access.

Additionally, the Ministry is preparing for the upcoming multi-party demorcratic general election on December 28, urging all legal officers to be familiar with the updated election laws and to assist lawfully in their respective roles.
