IMF Director praised India’s role in driving global economic growth

Addressing the curtain raiser on the 2025 IMF Annual Meetings, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva shared the analysis of the global economy.

She said global growth patterns have been changing over the years, notably with India develops into a key growth engine.  IMF also announced that the global economy is projected to grow by 3% this year.  India’s bold reforms—from digital ID and payments to public infrastructure—are transforming its economy, turning it into a key engine of global growth.
