Clean-up operations are underway in Nepal after torrential rains triggered landslides and flash floods blocked major roads connecting the capital, Kathmandu. Parts of the country have been inundated since Friday, prompting disaster authorities to warn of floods in multiple rivers.

Landslides have blocked several highways and disrupted flights, leaving hundreds of travellers. Rivers in the capital Kathmandu also swelled, inundating settlements along their banks. According to a disaster official on Sunday, at least 42 people were killed due to landslides and floods.
