India hosts opening ceremony of World Para Athletics Championships 2025

The opening ceremony of the World Para Athletics Championships 2025 took place in New Delhi on 25th September. A message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extended his best wishes to all participants, highlighting India’s pride in hosting this global event for the very first time.

The opening ceremony began with the parade of nations, where athletes from across the world marched in a vibrant display of global unity. It will be the 12th edition of the event and the largest Para sport event ever held in India. The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will host over 2,200 participants during the Championships, which will take place from 27 September to 5 October.
