Two viral videos of giant panda cubs interacting with their mothers at a leading conservation center in southwest China’s Sichuan Province have sparked widespread interest in the species’ natural behavior and breeding success, spotlighting the work of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP).

The first clip, filmed on September 3rd, shows pandas eating bamboo. The second recorded on September 4th, features cubs playing before their mother intervenes to mediate, prompting online praise for the pandas’ natural parenting behavior. All four cubs, were born at the CCRCGP between July and August 2023. The CCRCGP operates the world’s largest captive panda population and leads global efforts in panda breeding, rewilding, and international cooperation.
