The “Syrian Prisons Museum” project was inaugurated last Monday at the Shamiya Hall of the National Museum in Damascus, with the aim of preserving memory and shedding light on the crimes committed under the former regime. The launch event drew a wide audience that included political, media, and human rights figures from Syria and abroad, alongside former detainees and families of the disappeared.

The museum offered 3D virtual tours inside documented prisons, along with testimonies from former detainees about their experiences, as well as studies, research, and investigative reports related to prisons and detention centers.
