France kicks off first ever national sports day

Paris marked the first edition of France’s Fête du sport with the unveiling of the “Boulevard du Sport” plaque. The event was attended by French Minister for Sport Marie Barsacq, National Olympic Committee President and Paralympic Committee President.

The festival includes more than 5,000 certified events across the country, with around 100 athletes meeting Parisians in the capital to promote sports participation. Organisers plan to establish the celebration as an annual fixture, similar to the Fête de la Musique.
