Bali floods death toll rises

The death toll from the devastating floods in Bali’s capital Denpasar has risen to fourteen, with many saying this is the worst they’ve experienced in the tourist island. Hundreds of residents were evacuated to schools and mosques, after torrential rains caused flooding and landslides.

Rescue workers have resumed their search for people, who may have been swept away by floodwater. Traffic is starting to return to normal, after gridlocked roads caused chaos. Authorities are facing a mammoth cleanup effort.
