




France will prohibit the sale of nicotine pouches, pellets, and chewing gumsstarting in March 2026, under a decree published in the Journal Official on Saturday. These tobacco-free nicotine pouches contain polymer fibers impregnated with nicotine and flavorings in a permeable fabric.
They are placed between the lip and gum and are denounced by anti-smoking associations for their toxicity and addictiveness, particularly for children and adolescents. The new regulation will take effect in six months and applies to all “nicotine-containing products for oral use, except for medications and medical devices”, according to the decree.
