US agents arrest 475 in raid on Hyundai-LG plant

Agents from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations arrested 475 people on Friday, during a large-scale raid at a Hyundai-LG battery plant being built in the southern state of Georgia.

A US official said that the detained were illegally present in the United States, including people who illegally crossed the border into the US, some who came in through a visa waiver program that prohibits them from working, and others who overstayed their visas. And the official also said more than 300 of those detained were South Korean nationals.
