Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum outlined efforts to strengthen trade and security relations with the United States as she presented her report after 11 months in office.

Sheinbaum highlighted the recent approval of a constitutional reform designed to protect Mexico’s national sovereignty by sanctioning foreign interventions or actions deemed harmful. Within this framework, she emphasized the ongoing development of a cooperative relationship with the US government.

The president noted that Mexico continues to maintain one of the lowest average tariff rates in the world while working closely with US authorities under the existing trade agreement. Sheinbaum expressed confidence that negotiations could lead to improved conditions for both countries, alongside ongoing discussions on security cooperation.
