Thakin Phoe Hla Gyi Shield: MGY Region CM awarded prizes to champion team

The final match and awards ceremony for the 2025 Yaynan Myay Thakin Phoe Hla Gyi Shield Free Invitation Football Tournament was held at 3:30 p.m. on August 22 at the Magway Region Sports Ground. The event was attended by Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin and his wife, Western Air Command Commander Major General Thein Tun Oo, regional government ministers and their wives, the Region Advocate General, departmental officials, athletes, invited guests, and football fans.

First, Chief Minister U Tint Lwin and other officials watched the final match between Taungdwingyi FC and Enjoy Brother FC. Taungdwingyi FC won the championship with a score of 1-0.

An awards ceremony was then held. Region ministers presented cash prizes and trophies to the winners of the individual awards for Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder, Best Forward, and Best Player. Chief Minister U Tint Lwin presented the Thakin Phoe Hla Gyi Shield and a cash prize of 10 million kyats to the first-place team, Taungdwingyi FC. Major General Thein Tun Oo of the local military command presented a medal to each player of the second-place team, Enjoy Brother FC, and a cash prize of 7.5 million kyats.

A total of 32 teams from Magway and other regions competed in the tournament from July 21 to August 22. The first-place team received a prize of 10 million kyats, and the second-place team received 7.5 million kyats. Additionally, each team from outside the Magway Region received a subsidy of 1 million kyats, while teams from within the Magway Region received half million kyats for each match they played.
