Guterres Speaking on the occasion of the UN Special Day at the Expo

Speaking on the occasion of the UN Special Day at the Expo, the UN Chief said, “World Expos represent a chance for global people to write new chapters about the kind of world they want to create.” He also said, “rising authoritarian practices, the barbarity of today’s conflicts, and the accelerating climate emergency must compel the people to act – with urgency and ambition.”

Guterres visited some pavilions at the Expo 2025, including the UN pavilion and he expressed his gratitude to the UN staff there and volunteers, as well as to Japan, the host country.
