Regional Cooperation : 19th ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting in Malaysia

Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win and his delegation returned to Yangon on August 21 after attending the 19th ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting (ANCM) held in Penang, Malaysia from August 18 to 21.

During the visit, the Myanmar Navy delegation joined official meetings, held separate talks with regional navy leaders, and attended the ASEAN naval ship exhibition. Discussions focused on enhancing maritime security through unity, innovation, and technology.

Admiral Htein Win also met individually with navy leaders from Malaysia, Viet Nam, Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos to strengthen bilateral cooperation. As part of the event, ASEAN naval leaders participated in environmental activities like tree planting, cultural performances, and social engagements.

Likewise, Myanmar Navy’s warship "Sin Phyu Shin" took part in the 3rd ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise (AMNEX) from August 15 to 22, together with 10 ships from 8 countries. Activities included joint sea drills, sports competitions, and naval exhibitions.
