Labour Affairs : Union Minister inspects Workers’ Hospital and factories

Union Minister for Labour U Aung Kyaw Hoe, accompanied by officials, visited the Workers’ Hospital (Htantabin) on Friday to inspect healthcare services provided to social security-insured workers. He met with the medical superintendent and hospital staff, comforted patients, and provided cash assistance.

The Union Minister emphasized improving healthcare services under the 2012 Social Security Law and ensuring that insured workers receive proper medical care and benefits. He also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the government, employers, and employees to enhance job opportunities and social protection.

Later, the Union Minister visited industrial zones in Hlaingthaya (East) and met with factory officials, Workplace Coordination Committees (WCC), and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Committees to discuss labour-related issues. In the afternoon, the Union Minister toured the National OSH Training School, and inspected government health clinics and social security clinics.

He also visited Golden Emperor (Myanmar) and Sheng Jie (Myanmar) factories in Shwe Lin Ban Industrial Zone, urging them to comply with labour laws and workplace safety regulations through their respective WCC and OSH committees.
