ASEAN observers visit Cambodia's Preah Vihear temple after border clashes with Thailand

Cambodia's defence ministry took international observers to visit sites on its border on Thursday, including the UNESCO-listed Preah Vihear temple. The tour was part of a visit by the ASEAN Interim Observer Team to assess the situation following a ceasefire between the two countries.

Last month, a long-running border row between the Southeast Asian neighbours boiled over into conflict involving artillery bombardments, air strikes and infantry clashes, killing at least 43 people and forcing over 300,000 to flee their homes.
