Regions and States Futsal Tournament: Shan State CM delivered the opening speech

The opening ceremony for the 2025 Regions and States Futsal (Men's) Tournament was held at the multi-purpose Training Center in Taunggyi on August 20.

During the ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung expressed his pride and honor that Shan State was chosen to host the tournament. He urged all participating teams to compete with a spirit of true sportsmanship and to play clean. He encouraged them to respect and follow the rules and regulations, and to strive to become outstanding athletes who can represent the nation.

Afterward, Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Htein Lin gave a speech and officially opened the tournament. The participating athletes then recited the sports pledge.

The Chief Minister, the Deputy Minister, and other officials greeted the futsal athletes. They also enjoyed cultural performances, including the Kinnari and Kinnara dance by the Loi Long Shan ethnic group and a traditional ethnic dance by students from Taunggyi Education Degree College.

The Chief Minister then presented honorariums to the drum and bugle corps and the performing groups. He watched the opening match between Shan State and Mon State, which Shan State won with a score of four to nil.

The 2025 Regions and States Futsal (Men's) Tournament will be held from August 20 to 27, and admission is free for all spectators.
