Mediators Egypt, Qatar push to 'apply maximum pressure' for Gaza deal

Qatar’s prime minister is in Egypt to help mediate a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said during a visit to the Rafah crossing. Abdelatty highlighted ongoing coordination with Qatar.

Badr Abdelatty, Egyptian Foreign Minister said “Of course, we have, I mean, regular and daily contacts with Qatar because they are our partners in this process of negotiating a deal to put an end to the current starvation and attacks on Gaza.”

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohamad Mustafa called for more effective international action to ensure aid reaches Gaza and to prevent starvation being used against civilians. He also noted that the upcoming Gaza Strip Administration Committee will operate under existing authorities.
