King Charles released the message on Friday ahead of a ceremony to commemorate the anniversary. He paid tribute to British and Allied service personnel who fought in the war. Local media said it is believed to be the most direct reference a British monarch has ever made to the suffering in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
