Nigeria-Philippines Bilateral Relations

Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar met with a high-level delegation on behalf of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of the Philippines, to hold bilateral discussions with the Nigerian Government.

The engagement was strategic where the Secretary of Migrant Workers of the Philippines explored areas of mutual interest to strengthen ties with Nigeria particularly in protecting the rights and welfare of Filipinos residing in Nigeria. They agreed with reviving the joint commission to enhance relations, as most Filipino citizens see Nigeria as a safe haven.
