UN and European delegations visit Egypt-Gaza border

A joint UN and European delegation visited the Rafah border crossing from the Egyptian side to review humanitarian aid access into Gaza. The group included officials from the World Health Organization, World Food Programme, and UNICEF, along with former Irish President and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson.

Robinson described seeing warehouses with undelivered supplies and called the situation “utterly devastating.” While some food shipments were entering, large quantities of essential aid remained stuck. Humanitarian agencies continue to warn of delays at the crossing, which remains a vital but congested route for relief. The visit came amid repeated warnings from humanitarian agencies over delays in delivering life-saving materials.
