Dr. Soe Win, Union Minister for the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, met with officials and staff residing in the temporary container houses at Office No. 23 in the evening of August 5. These houses were allocated by the National Natural Disaster Management Committee for staff whose homes were damaged in the Mandalay earthquake.
The Union Minister offered words of encouragement and provided each of the 123 staff households with 100,000 kyats and a solar lamp.
Afterward, the Union Minister and officials inspected the living conditions of the staff and their families, including the arrangement of toilets, bathrooms, electricity lines, and kitchens. They then addressed and fulfilled any needs that were identified.
A total of 123 container houses including 16 double-unit and 107 single-unit houses have been constructed for the temporary accommodation of the staff and their families, ensuring a systematic and safe living environment.
