Landslides triggered by heavy rains disrupt highways across Uttarakhand

Continuous heavy rains since Sunday have led to landslides in several parts of Uttarakhand in India affecting movement on multiple National Highways. The Border Roads Organization is currently engaged in clearing debris and restoring routes to ensure the movement of essential services and disaster response units.

Emergency communication lines have been activated, and authorities have released contact numbers for the District Emergency Operation Center and Police Control Room. Dehradun, the state capital, is also witnessing persistent rainfall. The rising water levels in rivers and streams have prompted the administration to urge residents to avoid venturing near water bodies.
