Wipha causes severe flooding in central Viet Nam

Flooding caused by Tropical Storm Wipha left hundreds of families cut off in villages in central Viet Nam on Wednesday, authorities said.

One death and one injury due to flooding were reported in Nghe An province, where water levels in several residential areas reached depths of 1 to 2 meters, according to the report. Around 12,500 people were evacuated from high risk areas over the weekend, before the storm made landfall on Tuesday bringing heavy rains that triggered landslides and flash floods.
