Indian Navy to commission indigenous vessel INS Nistar

In a major milestone under India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission, the Indian Navy is set to commission its first indigenously designed and built Diving Support Vessel, INS Nistar, in Visakhapatnam. Equipped with advanced deep-sea diving systems, Nistar will enhance India’s ability to conduct underwater operations and rescue personnel from distressed submarines. Its key features include specialised saturation diving systems and a multi-deck diving complex designed to support critical underwater missions.
