Greening Campaign: Tree planting event in Nyaung-U Township

A mass tree-planting event was held in 13 districts of dry zone on Friday, as part of the nationwide greening campaign.

At the ceremony, took place at milepost 26/6 on the Kyaukpataung–Nyaung-U road in Nyaung-U Township of Mandalay Region, Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Min Thu attended and delivered a speech.

Around 3,000 people, including departmental personnel, students, and local residents, participated in the activity. A total of 3,000 trees from 11 species such as mahogany, neem, tamarind, teak, mezali, and rosewood were planted during the event. The campaign aims to promote environmental sustainability and reduce the impact of climate change in dry zone.
