Waso Robe Offering Ceremony: MGY Region Government organized the ceremony

On the Full Moon Day of Waso, the 9th of July, a collective Waso robe offering ceremony, organized by the Magway Region Government and various departments, was held at the Maha Wizaya Ransi Hall within the precinct of Myathalun Pagoda in Magway.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief Minister of Magway Region, Thiri Pyanchi U Tint Lwin, the Commander of the Western Air Force Command Headquarters, region ministers and heads of departments, officials at the regional, district, and township levels. They collectively offered 1062 sets of Waso Robes and donated items, totaling 84.197 million Kyats, to the venerable Sayadaws from 98 monasteries in Magway city, and performed the pouring of water of libation to share the merits.

First, the Chief Minister and all invited guests observed the Five Precepts from the Presiding Sayadaw Gyi of the Sangharama သံဃာရာမ Monastery in Magway. They then listened to the Paritta suttas from the venerable Sayadaws.

Following this, the attendees, including Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, the Commander of the Western Air Force Command Headquarters, and region ministers, offered donated items to the Sayadaw Gyi and the venerable Sayadaws.

After that, they listened to the sermon from the Presiding Sayadaw Gyi of the Maha Dhammikarama မဟာဓမ္မိကာရာမ Monastery in Magway, performed the pouring of water of libation to share the merits of all their donations, and then concluded the ceremony. After the ceremony, day meals were offered to the Sayadaws.
