Waso Robe Offering: Kayah State CM attended Waso Robe offering ceremony

Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin attended the Waso Full Moon Day (Dhamma Cakka Day) 2025 State-level Waso Robe Offering Ceremony and donations of rice, oil, pulses, and salt held at the Sasana Beikman Taw Gyi in Loikaw in the morning on July 9. He offered Waso robes and other donated items.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister and all the invited guests observed the Nine Precepts from the Chair of State Sangha Nayaka Committee, presiding Sayadaw of the Abbot Training Center. They then listened to the recitation of Paritta suttas, including Metta Sutta, by the members of Sangha.

Following this, the State Chief Minister, the Commander of Regional Military Operations, the State Chief Justice, members of the State Government, and departmental officials offered Waso robes and donated items such as rice, oil, pulses, and salt to the members of Sangha and nuns. After that, they listened to the sermon from the Chair Sayadaw of State Sangha Nayaka Committee, and performed the pouring of water of libation to share the merits of all their donations.

After the ceremony concluded, day meals were offered to the members of Sangha and nuns, and lunch was served to the invited guests.

It is reported that in this auspicious donation ceremony, the State Government, departments, and well-wishers collectively offered Waso robes and rice, oil, pulses, and salt, totaling over 76.9 million Kyats, to 725 monks, novices, and nuns who will observe the Waso Lenten period in Kayah State.
