Health Care Services: Cleft lip and palate surgeries provided in Bago

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and the Bago Region Government, free cleft lip and palate surgeries were conducted at 500-bed Bago General Hospital starting July 4.

Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win visited the hospital on July 5 to encourage patients and medical staff. They met with patients before and after surgery, and presented gifts to the patients and medical team. The surgeries were performed by a team led by the Professor from Department of Maxillofacial Surgery of Yangon General Hospital, along with postgraduate trainees.

A total of 40 patients are scheduled for surgery between July 4–6, with 11 surgeries completed on July 4, 11 more on the 5th, and the remaining on the 6th.
