To help small and medium-scale livestock farmers produce high-quality, market-driven products, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is supporting modern livestock production in Mandalay Region. On July 5, Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Gyi visited private livestock farms in Mandalay.

In Amarapura Township, he inspected a layer chicken farm, raising 28,500 hens and producing over 26,000 eggs daily. In Shwebo Township, the Deputy Minister met with local farmers to discuss opportunities to expand livestock businesses, improve family incomes, and promote food security.

He also visited a dairy farm in Kyauk Mee Village of Patheingyi Township, and inspected the production of yogurt, and dairy products. Later, the Deputy Minister visited the Agriculture and Livestock Institute, where he met students and discussed academic programs, farm practices, and rebuilding efforts after recent earthquakes.

He encouraged teachers and students to focus on practical skills and workforce development. The Deputy Minister later inspected the demonstration farms and provided animal medicines and nutritional supplements.
