Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony : MOEP organizes event in Nay Pyi Taw

The Ministry of Electric Power organized its second tree planting ceremony of the 2025 rainy season on July 5 at the Ministry’s central training compound in Nay Pyi Taw.

The event aimed to protect the environment, preserve ecosystems, prevent deforestation, and promote climate balance. Union Minister U Nyan Tun, Deputy Minister U Aye Kyaw, departmental personnel, and staff attended the event and collectively planted 1,250 teak trees at designated locations.

Similar tree planting events were organized by the departments under the ministry across states and regions. They planted over 8,000 trees including teak, perennial trees, flowering, and shade trees. At present, the ministry has planted over 21,000 trees nationwide so far this year.
