Animals enjoy ice and frozen food in Belgian zoo amid high temperatures

Elephants, polar bears and gorillas enjoy ice cubes and frozen food in the Pairi Daiza animal park in southern Belgium. With temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, the animals are being fed ice packs containing kibble, fish, fruit, or vegetables to help them cool down.  A punishing early summer heatwave that has already scorched western and southern Europe spread east Wednesday, bringing extreme weather warnings to Germany and reportedly causing motorways to buckle.
