Meeting with local residents: MCRD DM met with local residents in Tatkone

Deputy Minister U Myint Soe of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, who also serves as the Secretary of the Committee for Implementation of Progressive, Resilient, and Strong Communities, together with Nay Pyi Taw Council Member U Zeyar Lin, visited Nyaung Pin Thar Village, Tatkone Township, in the morning on 1st July and met with local residents.

During the visit, the Township Head of the Department of Rural Development briefed the officials on various matters, including the situation in Nyaung Pin Thar and Ma-Gyi-Pin villages after suffering from natural disasters of Typhoon Yagi during 2024, damage to some pagodas and houses caused by the strong Mandalay earthquake on March 28, reconstruction of 23 houses in Nyaung Pin Thar Village by the Myanmar Tourism Federation, volunteer groups, and donors and a goat farming project supported under a Nay Pyi Taw Council initiative.

Following the briefing, the Deputy Minister explained the structure and responsibilities of the Committee for Implementation of Progressive, Resilient, and Strong Communities, as well as implementation plans to be carried out by the relevant ministries and the Nay Pyi Taw Council.

The Deputy Minister then responded to local development proposals from villagers and coordinated necessary actions. He also inspected the 23 newly constructed houses in Nyaung Pin Thar Village and the goat farming project supported by the Nay Pyi Taw Council, offering encouragement and noting further requirements.

After that, the Deputy Minister and Council Member proceeded to Ta-gon-taing Village in Tatkone Township. There, they visited a monastery, offering donations to the Presiding Sayadaw. They then attended a seed and fertilizer distribution ceremony held at the monastery, organized for cotton farmers from Ta-gon-taing Village, and Gwaypin Model Village Cooperatives societies.

During the ceremony, 55 cooperative member farmers received RAKA-666 cotton seeds and fertilizer for a total of 157 acres of farmland.
