Sculpted elephants traveling exhibit concludes US journey in California

The Great Elephant Migration traveling exhibition featuring life-size sculpted elephants arrives in Beverly Hills, California, the last leg of a US tour that began on the East Coast in 2024. The sculptures represent real elephants from the Nilgiri Hills in Southern India and were created by Indigenous people using lantana camara, an invasive plant encroaching on natural habitat.

"The elephants are almost traveling around the world telling people that there are humans in India who coexist with elephants," said an Indian conservationist and a director of The Real Elephant Collective, which created the exhibit.
