Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep continues to draw international attention

Home to one of the richest collections of Roman mosaics in the world, the Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep continues to draw international attention for its stunning preservation of ancient art and history.

Opened in 2011, the museum is the largest mosaic museum in the world by display area and features artefacts from the ancient city of Zeugma, founded in 300 BC by one of Alexander the Great’s generals.

The museum showcases over 2,000 square meters of mosaics, along with Roman-era frescoes, fountains, and sculptures. Visitors are transported back in time as they walk through the museum’s modern galleries, designed to highlight the intricate artistry of the mosaics while preserving their delicate condition.
