Hundreds of Everest summiteers from India, China, Pakistan, the US, New Zealand and from other countries gathered at the first-ever International Everest Summiteers’ Summit-2025 held in Kathmandu on May 27.

Inaugurating the event, Nepal’s Tourism Minister, Badri Pandey, asserted that the conservation of mountains and mountain cultures for the future generation is the common responsibility of everyone. The Minister also honoured several national and international climbers, who climbed Mount Everest, as a part of Edmund Hillary’s expedition team in 1953 with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.
