Meeting with farmers: Kachin State CM provided paddy seeds and fertilizers

As part of its ongoing efforts to achieve targeted yields for monsoon paddy cultivation, expand the acreage for post-monsoon and other rotational crops, and enhance the welfare of farmers, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, along with state ministers and officials, visited monsoon paddy farmers at the Balaminhtin Model Plantation Field (North of Tatkone) in Myitkyina on May 27.

During the visit, the Chief Minister presented bags of Hsin Akary-3 paddy seeds and organic fertilizers to the farmers. One of the farmers expressed gratitude in return. The Chief Minister also coordinated with departmental officials to address any additional requirements related to the cultivation process.

Following this, the Chief Minister observed a demonstration of sustainable farming techniques at fields where organic fertilizer (green manure) had been applied using tractors from the Department of Agricultural Mechanization. The demonstration showcased direct sowing methods and mechanized plowing for soil enrichment and farmer education.

The Chief Minister and party then visited an area in the Mawphong village tract where new village plots are being developed. There, they inspected the use of heavy machinery to prepare land for new housing plots. They reviewed the planned layout for housing zones, markets, and playgrounds, and worked with relevant departments to coordinate and address necessary issues.

Later, at the Kachin State Government Office’s meeting hall, the Chief Minister attended a coordination meeting with members of the Kachin State Free Medical Treatment Foundation. The discussion focused on providing free medical care for internally displaced persons (IDPs) currently sheltering in Namti town. During the event, donations were also made including (5 million kyats) from the Chief Minister for the Foundation's healthcare work in Namti, (10 million kyats) donated by Dr. Bum Ywan, (5 million kyats) donated by U Min Min, a foundation member from Ho Pin Township.

The donations were individually presented to members of the foundation. The Chief Minister also pledged continued coordination and support to fulfill the needs of the displaced communities and ensure the success of the foundation's medical outreach.
