Viet Nam National Assembly Chairman meets with French President Emmanuel Macron

On May 26, Viet Nam National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with French President Emmanuel Macron.

President Macron praised the Vietnamese National Assembly’s role and pledged to push for the ratification of the EU–Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement. He also said he would work with the European Commission to accelerate the removal of the IUU yellow card on Vietnamese seafood. Both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges, especially between national assemblies and friendship parliamentary groups.

On the East Sea issue, President Macron reaffirmed France’s commitment to freedom of navigation and adherence to international law. He also invited Chairman Tran Thanh Man to the Francophone Inter-Parliamentary Forum in July.
