The Ho Chi Minh City is planning to convert 400,000 gasoline-powered ride-hailing vehicles to electric vehicles. A comprehensive roadmap will be finalized by June, with implementation details following in July.

The transition could dramatically reduce CO₂ emissions and accelerate the development of smart charging infrastructure. City leaders have pledged strong support for both businesses and drivers, offering incentives such as tax breaks, low-interest loans, and expanded charging networks to ease the shift toward cleaner transport.
