Iran says ready to rebuild 'mutual trust' with Europe

Iran’s top diplomat, Abbas Araghchi, stated at a diplomatic forum in Tehran that the country is prepared to rebuild trust with European powers amid discussions over the potential reimposition of UN sanctions linked to the 2015 nuclear deal. 

Araghchi emphasized that Iran is willing to start a new chapter in its relations with Europe if European parties demonstrate genuine will and an independent approach. He noted that recent focus on differences has hindered cooperation opportunities but indicated that Iran sees no obstacles to restoring mutual trust and expanding relations if Europe commits to change course.
