Tour in Taunggyi: MCRD Deputy Minister tours in Taunggyi

Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myint Soe visited Weaving and Vocational Education Training School in Taunggyi of Shan State (South) on 16th May. He met with the principal, teachers and trainees, before touring the school to view the practical weaving of traditional attires and learning of the trainees.

It is learnt that there are altogether 13 Weaving and Vocational Training Schools, with each school emphasizes on attire of specific ethnic tribe. The school in Taunggyi is conducting its research on the attires of Pa-O ethnic tribe.

On arrival at the Cooperative Accounting Vocational Training School, the Deputy Minister met with the principal and teachers and provided assistance. He also assessed the damage of the training hall due to the powerful Mandalay earthquake, and instructed necessities for renovation works.
