Chief Executive John Lee arrives in Kuwait

Chief Executive of Hong Kong John Lee arrived on 13th May in Kuwait on the third day of his Middle Eastern tour. Lee will stay in the country for two days. The Hong Kong delegation was welcomed by Basil AI-Sabah, an advisor from the Kuwaiti Prime Minister’s Office. Lee met with the Emir of the State of Kuwait at the Bayan Palace. 

Lee said they will attend a roundtable meeting with local officials. Lee said he mentioned the signing of a free trade agreement with Gulf Cooperation Council member countries. The meeting highlighted the strong bilateral ties between Kuwait and Hong Kong and explored avenues to enhance cooperation across economic, investment, cultural and scientific sectors. 

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
