Inspection of specialist hospitals: MoH UM inspected specialist hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, accompanied by relevant officials, visited several specialist hospitals in Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, including the Specialist Hospital for Eye, ENT, Brain, and Neck Surgery, the Orthopedic Specialist Hospital, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Hospital and the Pediatric Specialist Hospital on May 6.

During the visits, he inspected the current condition of the facilities, coordinated plans for rapid repairs, and discussed reopening the hospitals as soon as possible to resume healthcare services. The Union Minister also provided instructions to expedite the process of assisting staff affected by the recent earthquake in securing shelter, accelerate the construction of housing for displaced staff, immediately allocate container houses to affected personnel if available, in coordination with relevant departments In the afternoon, the Union Minister and party continued to inspect the ongoing construction of temporary Basha shelters for displaced staff at the Ministry of Health Office No. (4), the Department of Traditional Medicine, the National Herbal Garden, and the Nay Pyi Taw 1000-bed General Hospital and check the designated locations for placing container houses.

Furthermore, the Union Minister accepted donations for health workers and patients who made strong contributions during the Mandalay earthquake including 20 million Kyats from the Monewoon Bamar Ethnic Culture Organization and 35 million Kyats from Professor Shigeru Okada of the Myanmar-Japan Collaborative Project for People Development.

Additionally, a donation of 5 million Kyats was received from the Interfaith Dialogue Group on May 5. Certificates of honor were presented in return, and the Union Minister expressed words of gratitude to the donors. The donation ceremony was attended by the Union Minister, Deputy Ministers, Director Generals, departmental officials, and the donors.
