Tour in Yangon: New hostel, cash donation and meeting staff

On 4th May, Union Minister for Heath Dr. Thet Khaing Win accompanied by concerned officials oversaw the newly constructed four-storey RC student dormitory at the University of Pharmacy (Yangon). The domitory was constructed by building speical task force-2 with the use of 1,836 million kyat of state fund.

There, the Union Minister stressed on resilience of the dormitory and convenience of the students during their accommodation period.

On arrival at Food and Drug Administration Department, the Union Minister provided 30 million cash assistance donated by SUN Pharmaceutical Industry and 3 million kyat cash assistance donated by The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare for the healthcare personnel, providing necessary healthcare services at earthquake hit areas.

During the meeting with the staff, the Union Minister said that as some of laboratories and office buildings of the Department Headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw were damaged due to severe earthquake, some of the services will be temporarily relocated to the Yangon branch office to ensure uninterrupted regular operations. The requisite accommodation and utilities for the temporary relocated service personnel will be provided systematically.

The Union Minister highlighted the crucial role of the department in nation’s economic sector and encouraged the staff to make exerted efforts in fulfilling their respective duties despite of difficulties encountered.
