










Union Minister of Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, accompanied by directors-general and the university rector, inspected the newly completed RC five-storey dormitory for undergraduate students at the University of Medicine (1) in Yangon.
He instructed officials to ensure a peaceful study environment and adequate student facilities. The dormitory, built by the Ministry of Construction with 2.8 billion kyats of State Fund, was completed in March 2025 and will house around 250 students.
The Union Minister and party then oversaw the new Interventional Radiology X-ray machine at Yangon General Hospital. They visited two patients undergoing bone marrow transplants at the Hematology Department while providing nutritious food and cash assistance to them.
The Union Minister then met with hospital superintendents, professors, and specialists from central-level and public hospitals with 200 or more beds at the hospital’s Training Center. He emphasized the need for effective management of government healthcare funds to ensure the purchase of essential medicines and supplies.
He called for systematic management of critical medical resources and urged hospitals to eliminate financial costs for emergency treatments and surgeries. He also stressed the importance of Mass Casualty Management Plans for disaster preparedness and encouraged cooperation to enhance treatment services. The Union Minister and party then heard reports and fulfilled the needs.
