





The Myanmar Judo team secured 5 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals at the 2025 Penang Invitational JICA Judo Championship in Malaysia. An awarding ceremony for the victorious team was held on Saturday at the Nay Pyi Taw Sports Training Complex (Gold Camp).
Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, along with other officials attended the event. In his speech, the Union Minister emphasized the importance of rigorous training to achieve similar success in the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian Games and other international competitions. He assured that the ministry will provide full support in administration, training and other necessary areas.
Next, the leader of the Myanmar Judo team reported on the competition. The certificates of honor and cash prizes were then presented to the winners. One of the medalists expressed words of thanks on behalf of the team and the prize-winning athletes were later honored with a dinner. A total of 12 athletes from Myanmar took part in the 2025 Penang Invitational JICA Judo Championship, which featured 530 athletes from across Asia, Southeast Asia and clubs from European countries.
