Assessing ongoing operations: MoEA UM oversaw the offices for ongoing operation

Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Khun Thant Zaw Htoo, accompanied by the Deputy Minister and relevant officials oversaw the Union Minister’s Office and two relevant departments on Tuesday to assess ongoing operations.

The Union Minister and Deputy Minister then met with department heads and division in-charges. During the meeting, the Union Minister highlighted the urgent need for renovation of certain office rooms to restore full functionality. Regarding staff housing, he noted that temporary units with water, electricity, and sewage systems are under construction to ensure safe living during the restoration of original buildings.

The Union Minister also observed the systematic distribution of basic food and consumer goods provided by the government and local and international donors to earthquake-affected staff. Later in the day, the Union Minister reviewed the construction of temporary shelters within the office compound to accommodate staff families for over a year.

They then inspected water and electricity supplies, solar backup systems and sanitation facilities and fulfilled the needs.
